How to plan around these dates
- Ask for reference letters at least three weeks before each deadline. SFU USES references are due January 31, 2027, after the December 15 application.
- Apply for admission first where the award depends on it. UBC and Queen's both tie their awards to your admission application, and Queen's suggests applying through OUAC by November 20.
- Check for an internal deadline. CGRS M applicants should ask their faculty of graduate studies, since many universities close earlier than December 1.
- Convert the time zone. UBC, Beedie Luminaries and SFU list Pacific time, so an 11:59 p.m. PST deadline is 2:59 a.m. ET the next day.
